The clearer an organization or brand is about what it stands for and where it wants to go, the more successful it will be. Now, more than ever, this also applies to the art market.

Given the complexity of creative and economic goals, however, the challenges faced by art and cultural institutions, galleries, and artist couldn’t be more complicated. Strategy development and strategic marketing are therefore also starting to gain relevance within the art world.

Art and the market are no longer mutually exclusive fields – in light of this, it has become important to consider artistic and economic interests on equal terms.

My consulting work takes this link between strategy and creativity as a starting point: I look at the fields of art and culture from a strategic perspective while simultaneously bringing a creative dimension to strategy development.



Balancing one’s goals and aspirations in the art field with the demands of the art market is a highly individual process. Using tested methods, new impulses, and an analytic view from the outside, I work with clients to develop strategies, solutions, and measures tailored to their own personality, brand, and business.

My specific services include strategy consulting and “strategic sparring” in the following areas:

brand positioning and development, marketing strategies and communication

business strategies, business models, executive business coaching

analysis and optimization of structures and workflows, matters related to management and personnel

My clients are active participants in the art market, museums, cultural institutions, and foundations, as well as companies focused on creative products or artistic projects.

_Depending on the task at hand, I make use of a professional network of experts, including historians, digital experts, art educators, and creative agencies. I use my network as a consulting tool, yet I also assemble individualized groups of experts or special constellations for workshops.

_Based on my systemic education, I work in a way that is constructive and solution-oriented, allowing this attitude, as well as its methods, to flow into my consultancy.

My name is Kerstin Gold. I live and work in Berlin and am a passionate consultant. I deliberately decided to apply my experience in strategy-development and marketing to the art market because I strongly believe that creativity and economics can go hand in hand.

In recent years, this path has led me to pursue in-depth studies at the Frieze Academy London (Social Media for Art & Fashion), Free University of Berlin (Management in the Art Market), Berlin University of the Arts (Curating), and University of Cambridge (History of Art). I gained my expertise in strategy-development and marketing through a degree in Business Administration and nearly 15 years of consultancy work in the international marketing sector and creative industry.

During this time, I provided strategic advice in the areas of brand management, marketing, and communication to various companies (including adidas, ABSOLUT Vodka, Sony PlayStation Europe, McDonald’s, and Lufthansa Global), led teams at well-known creative agencies in London and Berlin, and ultimately managed an entire agency office. As a result of these experiences, I am familiar with general business frameworks, structures, and procedures, as well as topics like business management, personnel management, and financial planning.

I am also trained as a Systemic Business Coach, having received certification from the German Association for Coaching and Training (DVCT) in 2011.
